How's your life? Have you given any thought about it? Are you enjoying living it, or does it appear just as an endless chain of have to do events, without leaving you time to really live your life and do those things that you want to do and especially enjoy doing? Randy Komisar wrote in his book "The Monk and The Riddle" about Deferred Life Plan, which basically means that you are doing all the time things that you have to do (or at least you think so), so that later in the undefined future you will be able to do things that you would really enjoy doing. This kind of life plan is problematic, since often it just keeps feeding itself, there will always be things that need to be done, before you can.. How will it be, when you grow old or become suddenly terminally ill, how would you like to see your life and things that you did in retrospect?

How's your life?
Pasi, dude, my life is great. Moving to Tokyo next month from sunny Kumamoto. Got a beer set aside for next week when I give my current job and head off to explore the east.
Have you given any thought about it?
Not even for a second. Why? Life is for living, not sitting around on your ass contemplating it.
Mike,
I had also set my mind to coming to Japan for some years, but unfortunately it did not realize this time. As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, I just didn't have good enough language skills for that position. :(
I am happy to hear that you are enjoying your life there, but be careful with beer though, you may end up drinking gallons of it.. ;)
I completely do agree with you that life is for living, but sometimes sitting down on your ass to contemplate it may reveal that you are not living it as you would like to.
Yeah that "beer" stuff.. it'll get you eventually.
Japan is nice this time of year. I remember, it must be about six years ago now, sitting under some cherry trees drink beers at Nagoya Castle. Looking forward to nine months of experiences and growth. Now THAT'S contemplation.
